Favorite Vacation Spots!
We really enjoyed the putt putt course at Coconut Creek Family Fun Park! It was jungle themed, well kept and perfect for smaller children! The maze was a wonderful bonus!
The Wicked Wheel is locally owned and has delicious food! We definitely recommend the fried green tomatoes and chicken sandwich!
Okay, so you've heard a little bit about our awesome time at Coconut Creek Family Fun Park, but let me tell you, there's so much more to dive into if you're planning a trip to Panama City Beach, Florida! This wasn't just a quick stop; it genuinely became one of our family's favorite memories from our PCB vacation. Let's talk mini golf first. We've played a lot of putt-putt courses, but Coconut Creek truly stands out, especially for families with younger kids. The jungle theme isn't just a few plastic animals; it’s immersive! You'll be putting your way through lush greenery, past waterfalls, and encountering giant gorillas, elephants, and even a T-Rex. It felt like an adventure in itself, not just a game. The course is really well-maintained, which makes a huge difference. No peeling turf or broken clubs here! For smaller children, the holes are challenging enough to be engaging but not so difficult that they get frustrated. There are two 18-hole courses, so you can pick your adventure or even do both if you're feeling ambitious! We found the Safari Course to be slightly easier, perfect for our little ones, while the Tropical Course offered a little more challenge for the adults. The shade from the trees was also a lifesaver on a sunny Florida afternoon! And then there's the maze – oh my goodness, what a bonus! The Funtastic Maze at Coconut Creek is no joke. It’s a huge, winding labyrinth that's genuinely challenging but incredibly fun. You get a passport to stamp at different points inside, which adds a fun scavenger hunt element and helps you track your progress. We spent a good chunk of time in there, laughing and trying to figure out the fastest way out. It’s made from over a mile of fence, so it’s much bigger than I anticipated. Don't be surprised if you get lost for a bit – that's part of the charm! There's even an observation bridge where you can look down and plan your next move, or just wave to family members still trying to find their way. It’s such a unique activity that you don't often find at mini-golf places, making Coconut Creek a truly winning combination for family entertainment. A few tips if you’re planning to visit: We went in the late afternoon, which was perfect because we avoided the midday heat, and then got to see the park lit up beautifully at night, just like in the pictures. The illuminated sign and the upside-down architectural style of the building really pop after dark! It can get busy, so going on a weekday or earlier in the day might help avoid crowds. Prices are very reasonable for both the mini golf and the maze, with combo tickets often available to save a few dollars if you want to do both. Bring water, especially on warm days, and wear comfortable shoes – you'll be doing a fair bit of walking, especially in the maze! After all that fun, we were starving! That's where The Wicked Wheel came in. It's truly a local gem. While I raved about the fried green tomatoes earlier (and yes, they are as yummy and crispy as they look!), their chicken sandwich is also a standout. It’s got that perfect blend of crispy and juicy, and their sauces are incredible. It’s got a great, casual vibe, perfect for unwinding after a day of family adventures. The staff were super friendly, making the whole experience even better. It’s definitely a spot I’d recommend for a delicious, hearty meal that feels authentic to Panama City Beach. So, if you’re ever in Panama City Beach looking for fantastic family activities, make sure Coconut Creek Family Fun Park is on your list. It’s more than just mini golf; it’s an entire experience that delivers on fun, challenge, and lasting memories. And don't forget to fuel up at The Wicked Wheel afterward!
