Surely I'm not the only one who deals with this
I deal with ringing in both ears. But it's definitely worse in my left ear. The only way that I've found I can deal with it is to wear wrap around in ear buds and play an audiobook or music. But I have found that doing that for an entire 8 hour shift (I work 3 shift--10 pm to 7 am) it makes my ear cartilage sore.
I have mentioned it to my regular doctor and nothing was done so I'm going to mention it to my neurologist and see if there is anything that he can do. (I don't see him again until August)
I am open to any suggestions! I feel like I'm going crazy.
Picture is just for attention.
Tinnitus, often described as ringing in the ears, affects millions of people globally. If you or someone you know is dealing with this condition, you're not alone. Many who suffer from tinnitus report the sound appearing constant or intermittent, significantly impacting daily life. Approaches to managing tinnitus vary widely, from sound therapy to cognitive behavioral therapy. Sound therapy can involve the use of background noise or music to mask the ringing, similar to the technique I personally use. Some individuals find relief through relaxation techniques, which can help reduce the stress that exacerbates their symptoms. If you haven't consulted an audiologist or hearing specialist yet, consider doing so as they may recommend hearing aids or specific sound machines tailored to your needs. Lifestyle adjustments, such as reducing caffeine and alcohol intake and prioritizing sleep, can also make a significant difference in managing symptoms. For those who have reached out to healthcare professionals about their tinnitus, be proactive; inquire about treatment options tailored for you. Connecting with support groups, either online or in person, can also provide valuable insights and reduce feelings of isolation. Remember, finding the right coping strategies may take time, but support is available.
