Today we’re making Unstuffed Cabbage! 🎄❤️ #fyp #recipe #crockpot #christmas #cookmanusa
Hey everyone! I'm so excited to share one of my absolute favorite comfort food recipes that makes life so much easier – Crockpot Unstuffed Cabbage! If you've ever shied away from making traditional cabbage rolls because they seem like a lot of work (trust me, I get it!), then this "unstuffed" version is about to become your new best friend. It gives you all those incredible, hearty flavors without all the fuss of rolling individual leaves. I love using my Crockpot for this because it truly transforms the dish into a "set it and forget it" meal. Seriously, who doesn't love coming home to a delicious, home-cooked dinner that practically made itself? The slow cooking process makes the cabbage incredibly tender and allows all those amazing flavors to meld together perfectly. Getting started is super simple. I always begin by browning my 1 lbs ground beef in a skillet. Don't skip draining the excess oil – it keeps the dish from being greasy. Then, I toss in a yellow onion diced and cook it until it's beautifully translucent, followed by a spoonful of aromatic minced garlic. The smell alone is enough to get your appetite going! If you have a multi-cooker, you can do all the browning right in the pot, which saves on washing extra dishes – a total win in my book. Once that's done, everything else just goes into the Crockpot. I add in petite diced tomatoes and a bit of tomato paste for that rich, savory base. Then, the star of the show, the chopped cabbage, goes in. This is where the magic happens with the seasonings: a good dash of cajun seasoning for a little kick, along with classic garlic powder, onion powder, and a touch of crushed red pepper if you like a bit of heat. Don't forget a splash of Worcestershire sauce and some beef broth to keep everything moist and flavorful. Just give it a good stir, cover it up, and let your Crockpot do its thing on LOW for 6-7 hours, or HIGH for 3-4 hours. When it’s ready, your kitchen will smell absolutely amazing, and you'll have a wonderfully hearty and comforting meal waiting for you. My family absolutely devours this. It’s fantastic served over a bed of fluffy white rice, or even with some creamy mashed potatoes. Sometimes I’ll even serve it with some crusty bread to soak up all that delicious sauce. It’s also brilliant for meal prepping – just portion it out into containers for easy lunches throughout the week. You can even freeze leftovers, and they reheat beautifully. This Unstuffed Cabbage recipe is a must-try, especially during the colder months or when you just need a big hug in a bowl!
