Find confidence in yourself & others will follow!
Confidence at work has not come naturally for me.
I’m 25—and every one of my coworkers are 40+.
They’ve all been in the game way longer. With years of experience, deep industry knowledge, and strong opinions, I felt like I had to prove myself before I could be heard.
This is my first “real” job, and I was hired to run all things marketing. That means creating campaigns, making branding decisions, writing emails—and standing by my ideas in front of people who’ve been doing this longer than I’ve been alive.
At first, I was quiet in meetings. I double-checked every sentence I wrote. I questioned my creative choices and second-guessed my instincts constantly.
But slowly, things started to shift.🤩
I realized confidence isn’t about being the smartest person in the room—it’s about being willing to speak up, take ownership, and back your work. I built trust by staying consistent, delivering results, and being open to feedback.
Now? My coworkers come to me with marketing questions. They trust me. And more importantly—I trust myself!
If I could give advice to anyone just starting out, it would be this:
You don’t need 20 years of experience to have good ideas. You just need to believe your voice deserves space at the table.

This article emphasizes the importance of believing in oneself and recognizing that valuable ideas aren't solely based on years of experience. Being dependable and open to feedback can foster trust, which is crucial in collaborative settings. To enhance workplace confidence, consider adopting strategies such as practicing assertive communication, setting small achievable goals, and actively seeking mentorship. These approaches not only build self-assurance but also demonstrate capability to others around you. Engaging in networking events and professional development workshops can further expand your horizons and empower your voice in any professional setting. Remember, your perspective is unique and has merit—embracing that can change the dynamics of your work environment.
