Saving My Sanity as a Marketing Manager 🫠
As a one-person marketing team, I always have a million things on my plate. Trade shows, TikTok videos, emails, website updates… it never stops.
The one thing that truly saves my sanity? My ✨walking pad✨
I use it more than anything in my office. Sitting all day makes me stir-crazy, but walking keeps me focused, gets my steps in, and honestly traps me at my desk long enough to finish what I need to.
Another weird hack? Scrolling TikTok for content ideas😅. When I hit a wall, switching to a creative task resets my brain. Planning, shooting, and posting nonstop can drain me fast, so a little scroll-time feels more like inspiration than procrastination.
Some (most) days I still feel like I’m losing it, but these two small habits make the chaos manageable.
How do you stay sane at your job?

Managing a marketing role single-handedly involves juggling numerous responsibilities, from organizing trade shows to crafting engaging TikTok videos and maintaining digital assets like websites and email campaigns. One of the biggest challenges is avoiding burnout while staying productive in such a dynamic environment. Incorporating a walking pad into your workspace offers a simple yet effective solution. Regular movement, even at a slow pace, helps combat the negative effects of prolonged sitting, such as decreased energy and clouded focus, by stimulating blood flow and releasing endorphins. Moreover, integrating short bursts of creativity, like exploring TikTok for fresh content ideas, can provide cognitive rest and inspiration. This strategy aligns with what many marketing professionals experience: shifting between analytical and creative tasks can rejuvenate your mindset, reducing feelings of stagnation and fatigue. Rather than viewing social media scrolling as a distraction, using it purposefully for inspiration harnesses its potential to refresh your approach and spark innovation. Additional methods to enhance work-from-home productivity include setting clear boundaries to separate work time from personal time and creating mini-routines that foster a sense of accomplishment throughout the day. These could involve scheduled breaks for stretching or brief mindfulness sessions to reset your mental focus. Adopting organizational tools like digital planners or task management apps can also streamline workload management, ensuring no detail is overlooked. Ultimately, preserving your mental well-being in a fast-paced marketing role requires a blend of physical movement, creative engagement, and structured breaks. These habits not only help maintain productivity but also contribute to sustained job satisfaction and healthier work-life balance.

Walking pad is genius. Gotta get those steps in somehow while pretending to be productive 🤪.
