Things I pretend to know as a (can you guess?)

Can you guess my job based on my photos?? Honestly, I wouldn’t be able to.

Half my job is nodding like I know exactly what’s going on when my boss asks me to do something in Salesforce… then opening Salesforce Help Chat two minutes later.

Things I pretend to know as a marketing manager:

• Salesforce automations (they change daily and I’m just along for the ride).

• Industry buzzwords from trade mags. I highlight them and hope they stick.

• How to best market b2b ingredients... aka my job haha.

Basically, I’m a professional “smile and nod”, self taught queen until I figure it out✨And honestly? That’s corporate life.

What’s something you secretly Google after every meeting? 👀

... Read moreNavigating corporate life as a marketing manager often feels like a balancing act between confidence and continuous learning. One key tool many in this role lean on is Salesforce, a platform that's known for its frequent updates and complex automations. It's common to find oneself nodding along during meetings while internally searching Salesforce Help Chat or product documentation — a strategy that helps maintain professionalism while mastering new processes. Marketing within the B2B ingredients industry adds another layer of complexity. Understanding the specific needs of industries such as nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, and nutritional beverages is essential for effective promotion. Staying updated on industry trends often means sifting through trade magazines packed with buzzwords, which are highlighted and memorized to sound informed. The OCR content highlights topics like stress & mood support, immune health, and Omega-3s, reflecting popular themes in the dietary supplement and nutritional beverage sectors. Marketers in this space must connect scientific benefits with consumer aspirations, striking a balance between technical accuracy and relatable messaging. In reality, succeeding in a corporate marketing role involves being a 'professional smile and nod' while gradually becoming a self-taught expert. Googling terms after meetings, revisiting supplier documentation, and leveraging online help are all part of the job. This authenticity resonates across corporate roles, fostering community through shared career truths. So, what's something you secretly Google after every meeting? Sharing these moments builds connection and reminds us that the corporate journey is one of continuous growth and occasional uncertainty — a sentiment that every professional can relate to.
