Invisible works runs my shifts

Today was full of invisible work.

I spent my entire afternoon in a creative trends webinar trying to keep learning new skills for my career as a Marketing Manager, while my inbox stayed full of last-minute tasks I needed to finish before Christmas break (that I start tomorrow😅).

Then... I became my coworkers human test subject 🙂 He asked me to start taking a collagen supplement so he can test how it works across different age groups and report it to the brand. SURE!

Not in my job description. Not on my calendar. Still part of my shift.

These “invisible” things don’t look like much on their own, but they stack up fast and quietly derail the entire day.

Be honest… what invisible work fills your shift?

... Read moreInvisible work often refers to the tasks and responsibilities that do not appear in formal job descriptions or schedules but significantly influence our daily productivity and job satisfaction. For many professionals, especially in dynamic roles such as Marketing Managers, these tasks can include responding to urgent emails, attending last-minute meetings, or even informal commitments like participating in product testing. In this case, the personal experience shared about taking a collagen supplement to help a coworker conduct a product test highlights the spontaneous demands that may not be planned but become part of the day's workflow. Collagen supplements, such as those featuring 'Ovitage'—known as the world's most complete collagen—are increasingly popular for their benefits supporting stress management, muscle and bone health, energy boosts, and beauty from within. This kind of invisible work, though not formally recognized, is crucial to team collaboration and product development. Moreover, invisible work stacks up silently, often leading to fatigue and the feeling of a derailed day. It reminds us of the importance of recognizing all forms of work, even those unseen, when managing workloads and setting boundaries. Sharing your experiences about invisible work can foster awareness and promote healthier work environments where such hidden efforts are acknowledged. How do you manage your invisible work? Whether it's taking on additional tasks, supporting colleagues with testing products, or juggling last-minute assignments before breaks, these contributions matter. Understanding and discussing invisible work helps individuals and organizations value every aspect of labor, leading to better support systems and enhanced productivity.

My invisible work is logging every change or update I make. It definitely takes time, but it’s a helpful habit because it gives me a place to reference later. Hey, just be careful with what you're taking. Once they gave me free hair growth supplements and the ingredient list was crazy, like 4x the recommended value 👀
