Learning how to Drape Fabrics?
In school I was taught pattern making before draping and it came in handy when learning the skill.

What Materials Do You Need To Drape?
- Muslin fabric
- Ruler
- Pins
- Dressform
- Pen, chalk, or drawing marker
- Twill tape or drape tape
Center front
- You’ll want to measure 8-10” from the selvage to use as your center front line
- Next you will match that line to the center front of your garments using pins
Once you do this your creativity is up to you! Depending on which garment you want to drape. Keep in mind you will have to think of the body. This includes bust darts, waist darts, or side bust darts.
ALWAYS MARK WHERE YOUR PINNED!! For example if you draped a bust dart you want to mark both sides of that dart, where it begins and where it may end.
