Winter Arc Day 65:
Not just day 65 but my 40th birthday! 🙌🙌🙌

Spent my birthday meeting with a trainer to work on form which was my first time in a gym this year. Yup I lost 81lbs and never set foot in a standard gym. I am blessed to have a garage gym but now that it's getting cold out I was faced with either getting a gym membership for the cold months or figuring out how to winterize the entire garage and buy heavier weights.

Achieving significant weight loss while avoiding traditional gyms is a remarkable feat, as shown by the journey of losing 81lbs primarily through home and outdoor workouts. Many fitness enthusiasts face challenges as seasons change, especially transitioning to winter months that can disrupt outdoor exercise habits. One practical solution is winterizing your garage gym, as mentioned, which involves enhancing insulation, adding portable heaters, and improving floor traction to create a comfortable and safe environment year-round. Investing in heavier weights can also support continued muscle growth and strength gains during winter. Walking remains a great cardio strategy, evident from daily walks of 1.7 to 1.85 miles, combined with high step counts exceeding 15,000. Incorporating diverse workout types, including personal trainer sessions focused on full-body routines and targeted leg workouts with giant sets such as dumbbell deadlifts and weighted lunges, provides balanced fitness development. Hydration is crucial during winter too, as low temperatures can mask thirst cues. Drinking 200 ounces daily exemplifies proactive self-care. Additionally, setting measurable goals like daily movement, clean eating, and mental health practices fosters sustainable wellness. Budgeting and creating a motivating workout space can further enable adherence to fitness commitments. This holistic approach demonstrates that even with age milestones and seasonal shifts, persistence and adaptable strategies pave the way for continuous improvement and a healthy lifestyle.

Happy birthday!
