Swipe ⏩ To Color With Me!

💕 I did another stylized colored pencils drawing, since my previous one was the top post for last week!

✏️ I am including the prismacolor codes if you want to choose a similar color palette, but honestly I don't recommend investing in prismacolor premier if you only want to do anime and not realism. (because the waxy colors may blend more than you want and cover your lineart)

🎨 I actually just bought myself more smaller crochet hookes and a big WATERCOLOR pencil set. I am really excited for it to arrive and hope I can make some nice stuff with it ❤️

... Read moreHey everyone! So many of you loved my last stylized colored pencil drawing, and I had a blast sharing my process. This time, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into some of the questions you might have about achieving those vibrant, smooth results, especially when working with Prismacolor Premier pencils. You know how I mentioned that Prismacolor can be a bit tricky for anime due to its waxy nature covering lineart? Well, I’ve found a few tricks to make them work wonders! For me, it's all about layering. Instead of pressing hard right away, I build up colors with very light pressure, creating multiple thin layers. This allows the pigments to blend more smoothly without obliterating my initial 'Lineart Just pencil for the lines' (a crucial first step!). When I'm aiming for that perfect skin tone, I often start with lighter shades like PC927, then slowly introduce PC946 with super light pressure for shadows, building depth gradually. It's like gently coaxing the colors together rather than forcing them. One thing I've explored a lot is blending techniques. Beyond just layering, I've found that using a colorless blender can help, but sometimes just a lighter shade of the same color family, or even a soft tissue, can buff out those waxy streaks. For hair shadows, I love experimenting with 'blue tones to hair shadows' rather than just darker browns or blacks. It adds so much life and dimension, giving a cool, reflective quality that makes the drawing pop. And remember my tip about 'mixing pink and blue instead of using purple pencil' for purples? That’s a game-changer for getting custom, less muddy shades! If you're aiming for an 'aesthetic drawing pencil colour' or a 'glow effect with colored pencils', think about your light source from the very beginning. Even in stylized art, understanding where the light hits and where shadows fall makes a huge difference. I often leave tiny areas of white or use a white gel pen at the very end for sharp highlights, especially on eyes or shiny elements, which really makes things 'glow'. For 'simple girl drawing pinterest' inspired ideas, start with basic shapes and don't be afraid to exaggerate features for that cute, stylized look. Focus on getting the proportions right first, then let the colors bring your character to life. These little steps can help you 'use colored pencils like a pro' and unlock so many 'creative ideas cute easy colored pencil drawings.' It’s all about practice and finding what works best for your style!
