Art Therapy 💕 Easy project anyone can do
❓ What is Art Therapy ❓
(my definition) art therapy is giving your brain a break from distraction, social media, to create something without worrying about the result! This is a good time to let go of perfectionism and allow for 'happy accidents'. These projects may bring back memories of your childhood, or if you have a child ... do it together 💙
🖍️Color collage project🖍️
For this project, pick one color (I picked red). Then go through a magazine, stickers if you have them, really anything in your art supply stash or junk drawer that matches the color.
Then start laying them over each other, to make a layout. I am working with an artist trading card size.
And if you have hot glue, dont be afraid to go 3D. I made a quick crochet round with thread and just glued it on top, along with some chunky glitter.
There is no meaning behind this collage other than the color choice and the fact that it was me creating something and having fun.
💗 Conclusion 💗
of course these art therapy projects are not meant to replace real therapy, but I hope you find yourself being more mindful, creative and in touch with your emotions while you do this. We often live so distracted (even taking the phone to the bathroom) that we don't actually give ourselves time to process emotions, which is what this project is all about.

Art therapy is an excellent way to explore your creative side and process emotions in a non-judgmental way. This practice encourages individuals to engage in artistic expression, providing therapeutic benefits alongside enjoyment. One project that showcases the potential of art therapy is the color collage, where you can choose a color and gather materials that fit within that theme. This could include magazine cutouts, stickers, and other supplies you have at home. The key is to have fun and focus on the process, rather than the end result, allowing for 'happy accidents' that contribute to a spontaneous and fulfilling experience. Engaging in such projects can evoke childhood memories, making it a nostalgic yet fulfilling activity shared with friends or family members. Remember that the goal isn't to create a masterpiece; it's about the emotional benefits and the time spent expressing yourself creatively. Through art therapy, you allow your mind to break free from distractions, promoting mental health and emotional wellness. Consider setting aside time regularly to indulge in these projects, as they serve as a powerful form of self-care and a gateway to deeper self-awareness. Explore various themes, color schemes, and techniques to keep your creative juices flowing, and watch as art transforms your state of mind.
