I painted a cat for you, based on your birth month

I'm absolutely thrilled that my birth month cat calendar project is finally coming to life! It’s been a labor of love, and seeing these feline friends take shape for each month has been such a joy. I wanted to create something truly special for all of you, a unique way to celebrate your birth month with a purr-fect companion. For the first four months, I really delved into capturing the essence of each season and month. For January, I pictured a resilient calico cat, nestled in a snowy landscape with bright red berries, symbolizing warmth and endurance even in the coldest time of year. Doesn't she just look cozy despite the chill? Then came February, and I instantly thought of romance and delicate beauty. My orange and white cat, adorned with a soft pink rose, sits gracefully beside a vase of blooms. It’s a nod to Valentine’s Day and the gentle promise of spring. For March, I envisioned an energetic orange tabby cat, full of playful pounce, batting at a green ball – perfectly capturing that burst of new life and mischievous spirit that arrives with early spring. And who could forget April showers? My black cat in a bright yellow raincoat was a must! Sitting patiently on a wet path, this little adventurer embodies resilience and a touch of whimsy, reminding us that even rainy days can be charming. I love how these first four cats each have such distinct personalities, just like us! Creating these pieces, from the initial sketch to the final brushstroke, has been an incredible journey. I spent hours researching different cat breeds and imagining what kind of feline personality would best suit each month. I also thought about the colors and elements that resonate with specific times of the year. For instance, while brainstorming for future months, I’ve considered how to incorporate elements that people often associate with their 'month animal' – even if it's not a cat! The idea was always to make it personal and heartwarming. Many of you might be looking for 'your month your animal' themes, and I hope these cat drawings hit the spot. Cats are so diverse, loving, and full of character, making them perfect muses for this project.
