I love dogs and I like resident evil so I cooked. I based this on tempermant, looks, and vibes. I was super intentional with coats and colors too. This is the final of this series but I have more ideas so stick around!! I also posted the full list (w/o photos) on tumblr so go follow me thereeeeee.
... Read moreWow, the response to my Resident Evil characters as dog breeds series has been incredible! It’s been so much fun diving deep into the personalities and vibes of our favorite survivors and villains to find their perfect canine counterparts. I’ve loved seeing your reactions and hearing your own ideas!
Let's break down some of my choices for Albert Wesker, Piers Nivans, Rebecca Chambers, Ethan Winters, and Mia Winters. For Albert Wesker, I picked the Standard Poodle. Why? Think about it – Poodles are intelligent, elegant, and often perceived as aloof, but they're also incredibly powerful and can be quite cunning. Wesker's sophisticated demeanor and hidden strength just scream 'Poodle' to me! Plus, that dark, slicked-back fur? Totally matches his iconic look.
Then there’s Piers Nivans, the loyal and brave BSAA soldier. For him, the Norwegian Elkhound felt like the perfect fit. Elkhounds are known for their courage, stoicism, and unwavering loyalty – exactly like Piers, who stood by Chris to the very end. Their strong, resilient build also reflects Piers' combat prowess.
Rebecca Chambers, the young, brilliant medic, is definitely a Welsh Terrier. Welsh Terriers are lively, intelligent, and spirited, always ready for action despite their smaller size. Rebecca's quick thinking and determination, even in terrifying situations, perfectly align with this energetic breed.
And for the perpetually unlucky Ethan Winters, I envisioned a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Cavaliers are known for being gentle, affectionate, and resilient, often enduring a lot for their loved ones – much like Ethan, who goes through unimaginable horrors for his family. They have that slightly bewildered but always loving look, too!
Finally, Mia Winters, always a bit mysterious and complex, I paired with a Dachshund. Dachshunds are known for their distinctive look, but also their bold, sometimes stubborn personality. Mia's journey, from seemingly helpless to fiercely protective, has that unexpected depth that a Dachshund embodies.
Thinking about the broader world of Resident Evil and matching characters to dog breeds is such a blast! What about other iconic characters? Imagine Leon S. Kennedy as a German Shepherd – loyal, brave, and always ready to protect the innocent. Or Jill Valentine as a Jack Russell Terrier – small but mighty, incredibly intelligent, and full of fight. And Chris Redfield? Maybe a tough, dependable Rottweiler, always leading the charge and never giving up.
It's not just about the human characters, though! Resident Evil games themselves have iconic canine moments. Remember the terrifying Cerberus dogs in the original Resident Evil mansion? Those were Dobermans, adding to the horror with their aggressive, mutated forms. Or the guard dogs in Resident Evil 2 Remake, always a jump scare! Even the loyal companion Hewie from Resident Evil 4, a German Shepherd, shows how dogs can be both terrifying enemies and invaluable allies in the RE universe. Even the dog in Resident Evil 5 had a memorable moment saving Chris!
Whether you're looking for a fun new profile picture idea that screams 'Resident Evil dog lover' or just enjoy imagining your favorite characters as furry friends, I hope this series has given you a fresh perspective. It's a great way to appreciate both the rich lore of Resident Evil and the wonderful world of dogs!
