THE HARDEST THING I HAD TO SWALLOW ABOUT LOVE!
♥️🌹♥️
I used to think LOVE meant proving myself. That if I just showed up enough, poured enough, held on tight enough, they would finally see me. They would finally choose me. But let me tell you something, some people don't LOVE you. They LOVE what you do for them. And that truth? It nearly broke me. I sat in bed staring at my phone, waiting for a message that wasn't coming. I excused silence. That should've been a wake-up call. I justified their lack of effort, their absence, their blatant disregard, because I didn't want to admit what was right in front of me. They weren't busy. They weren't emotionally unavailable. They weren't "bad at communication." They just didn't care the way I did. That was the moment I had to ask myself, "Why am I so comfortable being an option when I make them a priority?" Why am I explaining away their absence? Why am I begging for the bare minimum? Why am I shrinking myself just to keep a seat at a table where I was never truly wanted? And the real question, the one that stung the most? "Why was I so scared to let go of people who were so comfortable losing me?" That's when I realized it was never about them. It was about me. My wounds. My fear of abandonment. My need to prove I was worthy of LOVE. But God didn't create me to beg. He didn't call me to chase, to shrink, to over-extend for people who wouldn't cross the street for me. He didn't place me on this earth to accept less than I deserve. So, if you're still waiting on someone to see your worth, I need you to hear this: They see it. They just don't value it. And that, that's not LOVE. So the real question is what are you going to do about it? Give your LOVE to God, and He will show you agape LOVE and marvelous wonders! 🙏🏽💜🙏🏽
Love can be a complex emotion, intertwined with our past experiences, expectations, and fears. Often, we find ourselves in relationships where we feel unappreciated or taken for granted. This realization can be overwhelming. According to Proverbs 19:21, 'Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.' This verse reminds us that understanding our worth and allowing God’s love to guide us is crucial in navigating such emotional challenges. It’s essential to differentiate between genuine love and the love that is conditional—based on what we can do for others. To truly love ourselves, we must first recognize our value, understanding that we are deserving of respect and commitment. This process often involves letting go of toxic relationships that drain our energy and self-esteem, allowing us to open our hearts to healthier, more fulfilling connections. Reflect on your relationships—are they mutually supportive, or do you find yourself compromising too much? By prioritizing self-love and aligning ourselves with God's purpose, we can fill our lives with deeper connections that honor our worth. Remember, it’s better to be alone than to share your life with someone who doesn’t cherish you. Rather than waiting for others to validate us, let’s focus on embracing our uniqueness and pursuing relationships that reflect our true value.
