JESUS, BUILD A FENCE OF LOVE AND PROTECTION!

WEEKLY SABBATH MESSAGE 📖

WHAT IS LOVE? It’s a word we use a lot, but have you ever stopped to think about what it means? Unfortunately, in our society today, we find a distorted kind of LOVE that is both SELFISH and SELF-CENTERED. We see romantic movies and think LOVE is about strong emotions and blissful feelings. When those feelings fade; we think that LOVE has ended. We may even stop LOVING a friend when they let us down, but true, biblical LOVE is SELFLESS, SACRIFICIAL, and UNCONDITIONAL; it is not contingent on our feelings or circumstances.

LOVE is synonymous with the fruit of the Spirit. Why? Because LOVE encompasses everything. When we demonstrate a life of biblical LOVE, we invariably express JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS, and SELF-CONTROL.

Father God, help me to remember the importance of LOVE and to emit true, biblical LOVE in my life. I PRAY all this in the blessed name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Biblical love, as described in 1 Corinthians 13:8, is a powerful, enduring force that contrasts sharply with modern misunderstandings rooted in fleeting emotions and selfish desires. True love is selfless, sacrificial, and unconditional, forming a protective barrier around believers much like a fence built from care and commitment. This kind of love is not dependent on changing feelings but is grounded in spiritual fruit, including joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. In practical terms, living out biblical love means fostering relationships that withstand trials and disappointments, emphasizing forgiveness and perseverance rather than withdrawal when emotions wane. It encourages a mindset of serving others unconditionally, reflecting the love Jesus exemplified and calls His followers to embody. Moreover, the phrase from the article's image, "The measure success is happiness and peace of mind," complements this teaching by highlighting that genuine happiness and inner peace come from living a life grounded in God’s love. This success is measured not by worldly gains but by the spiritual serenity that follows embracing such unconditional love. Therefore, building a fence of love and protection through Jesus means cultivating a life rich in these fruits of the Spirit. This spiritual fence guards against selfish impulses and protects communities from division and hurt, creating an environment where love truly never fails.
