TERRIBLE REVIEWS of my faves …

2024/4/3 Edited to

... Read moreIt's wild how much books mean to us, right? And sometimes, the books we absolutely adore are the ones that get the harshest critiques. I've noticed this especially with certain genres, like fantasy or sci-fi, where authors often push boundaries and create worlds that aren't for everyone. You know, the kind of book that, if someone was searching for something specific like an 'elixir supplier novel,' they might stumble upon something entirely different and feel compelled to leave a strong, perhaps negative, review. It's fascinating how one person's masterpiece can be another's 'inane' read that they wish they hadn't even started. I've personally seen and heard reviews that say things like, 'I did not care for this book at all. Too much science fiction or fantasy.' Or even, quite dramatically, 'maybe I should just accept that I’m too stupid for adult sci-fi and move on.' It makes you wonder, what exactly makes a book so polarizing? Is it the intricate world-building, the complex magic systems, or perhaps the way an author tackles sensitive or unconventional themes that challenge our preconceived notions? Sometimes, readers come with specific expectations, and if a book deviates from that, even if it's brilliant, it can lead to disappointment. From my own reading journey, I've found that sometimes, what one person finds utterly frustrating or a plot point that 'came out of nowhere' for them, another reader finds to be a total game-changer or a stroke of genius. It's all about individual taste and perspective. I also think about other types of critiques that delve into themes, like when people say, 'I don’t mind feminist books at all but the man hating bit at the end felt like it came out of nowhere,' or the more frustrating, yet surprisingly common, comments like 'we just want SF, no gay stories' and 'stop making everything gay.' These aren't just criticisms of the writing; they often reflect a reader's personal worldview colliding with the story. It truly highlights how deeply personal and subjective reading can be, and how varied our expectations are. What I've learned is that these kinds of reviews, while sometimes incredibly harsh, actually serve a purpose. They help me understand the diverse spectrum of reader preferences and what different people are looking for in a story. It helps me appreciate the books I love even more when I see them through the lens of someone who might have had a completely different, even opposite, experience. Just because someone labels a book as 'Hot Topic Satanism' doesn't mean it won't be a profound or enjoyable exploration of themes for someone else. In fact, a highly polarizing book often suggests it has something unique to say, something that resonates deeply with some, while alienating others. So, when you're browsing for your next read, especially if you're venturing into a new genre or picking up a book that seems to have a lot of mixed opinions, maybe keep an open mind. That 'terrible' review, or even a 'zero' rating, might just be indicating that the book is bold, unconventional, or simply not for everyone – and that might be exactly why you'll love it. Don't let someone else's negative experience stop you from finding your next favorite story. After all, isn't it exciting to discover something amazing that others overlooked or misunderstood? It’s all about finding what truly speaks to *you*, regardless of what the loudest critics or even the most casual readers on Goodreads say. Happy reading, fellow book lovers!

These are my opinions on it but y’all need to read it for yourselves to see what y’all think. The spice levels is based off of which had the most 🌶️ scenes. Twisted Games and Twisted Hate had the most. While Twisted Love and Twisted Lies didn’t have many maybe 4-6 max. I might do ratings on the Twi

1 star reviews of my favorite books
i feel like people can be really sensitive around negative reviews and one star reviews … but i love them! i think it’s great to engage with them lightly and giggle. :) and soooo many times those terrible reviews are what actually makes me pick up a book (which inspired this series). #lemon

So far (this is only day 3 so no results on hair yet) but as far as the taste I like it. The taste is NOT sooo horrible like I’ve read. I don’t care for mangos and that’s mainly what I taste (peach doesn’t even come across my tastebuds lol), but still not bad. It says you can take 1-2 tablespoo
