loved get out? try these books!

i love get out - and all sorts of social and psychological horror - so i’m drawn to a lot of books with similar themes and VERY unsettling vibes!

out there screaming is actually edited by jordan peele, so while not all of the short stories are super similar to his films, i do think fans of get out will love the collection overall (i certainly did).

let me know if you’d be interested in more book recs based on films!

In addition to 'Out There Screaming,' an anthology edited by Jordan Peele, explore works from authors like Stephen King, Shirley Jackson, and Tananarive Due, who masterfully blend horror with social commentary. Each recommendation delves into unique psychological horrors, creating an experience that will keep readers on edge. Whether it's exploring racial tensions, societal issues, or the complexities of the human mind, these stories provide unsettling yet thought-provoking narratives. Moreover, many readers appreciate books that transcend traditional horror by incorporating elements of mystery and suspense. Titles such as 'The Ballad of Black Tom' and 'Horrorstör' also provide chilling experiences that challenge perceptions and expectations, similar to the intense storytelling seen in modern films. Engaging with these books not only entertains but also sparks conversations about broader themes in society and horror itself.
