Book review from The Nebula’s Heart ♥️ #1

🔑 Key words list for those who are new! 🔑

🌙 The Nebula’s Core (referses to key themes)

💫 Guiding Stars (Applications and applying the knowledge)

✨Constellations of meaning (final thoughts!)

🌗The Stellar origins (about the author)

🌗 The Stellar Origins: “The stellar origins of a author, lie in their journey through key life events or influences, which shaped the luminous ideas found in a book.”

This author in particular…I couldn’t find a lot of info on personally! Other than the following “CLARKSON POTTER, an imprint of the Crown Publishing group, is a lifestyle gift imprint, specializing in design, health, humor, stationery, and other gift books and paper products.”

🌙 The Nebula’s core: “At the core of a book is a message about self discovery- much like how stars are born in the heart of a nebula, a book encourages us to create light from within.”

This book is mainly about self care and helping yourself in a more magical sense in witchcraft. Hence the name, however it does include passages that help to explain a bit more as to why one would result to witchcraft, what is it and how the reader is going to apply it to their life. It goes over the basics of spell work and includes the following.

- A correspondence list for herbs, essential oils, the moon, and crystals

- How to cast a circle and decast one

- Info on altars and tools

- How to consecrate magical tools

- Clearing and grounding

- Invoking spirits and energies

- Spells

- Divination methods

And it even gives it’s own resources that you can use. Which is a bonus! I always love books that include these even as a advance witch myself! It’s not a comprehensive list but it’s good enough to get you going. I will mention however that it does seem more aimed towards those who are female. However I do find that some of the spells can be used for those who simply want to embrace their feminine aspects and sides.

💫 Guiding Stars: “A guiding star from a book is it’s reminder to trust the universe’s timing- it’s like learning to navigate by starlight when the roads ahead seem unclear.”

When it comes to applying these spells and workings to one’s life and practice, there are a lot of useful things you can choose and do from the book. Including protection and just embracing your power and strengths. It’s a cute little book thats great for even the advance practitioner who would rather have spells that they can do quick and effectively, especially if you may or may not do spells typically by a certain day or moon cycle. A lot of the spells are fun and fairly simple as well. I do feel that a lot of the spells can also be good to do if you want to do low energy witchcraft, if you typically get tired easily and or drained easily. (When there is no spoons left!) Some chapters include but not limited to…

“Love your body”

“Envision your future”

“Make new friends”

“Connect with your ancestors”

“Releasing bad habits”

✨ Constellations of meaning: “Each idea in this book feels like a star in a constellation- alone, they sparkle, but together, they form a greater picture of interconnected truths.”

Like I stated before, I do feel like this cute little book is great for advance witches but especially good for those who are beginner witches! It’s very handy and you can plop it into a bag or backpack. The visuals of the book is very cute and gives off an artistic witch vibe (which I love ever so dearly as a art witch myself!)

It keeps things very simple and straight forward. Even if it’s not from a author who seemingly is known for practicing witchcraft and making books about it, it does seem that they did their research very well. But there can always be more to learn. Remember that!

But also, a lot of spells in general within this book can be altered and changed to fit your need and that goes for many different spell books. Unless stated otherwise!

I hope you enjoy this review ❤️

... Read moreI've been on a journey to cultivate more inner happiness and connection with my heart-of-hearts, and diving into 'SPELLWORK for SELF-CARE: 40 Spells to Soothe the Spirit' (also known as 'The Nebula's Heart') has been such a revelation! As the review mentions, this isn't just another book; it's a guide to creating a sanctuary within yourself, much like how stars are born in the heart of a nebula, encouraging us to create light from within. For anyone searching for that elusive sense of inner peace, this book offers a beautiful pathway. I especially loved how it frames self-care through a magical lens, making the process feel deeply personal and empowering. The spells aren't about grand gestures, but rather small, intentional acts that add up to significant shifts in your emotional landscape. Think about the simple power of a grounding ritual to clear away the day's stress, or a self-love spell to truly embrace and appreciate your body and spirit. These practices, even if they seem minor, can profoundly soothe your spirit and bring you back to your authentic self. One of the aspects that truly resonated with me, tying into the idea of finding your 'heart-of-hearts,' are the sections on connecting with ancestors and envisioning your future. It's about more than just spellcasting; it's about intentional living and understanding your place in the universe. The book also beautifully illustrates its concepts with stylized illustrations of female figures, plants, and mystical symbols, creating an artistic witch vibe that just makes the journey feel even more enchanting. It truly helps you tap into that feminine energy, whether you identify as female or simply want to embrace those nurturing aspects of yourself. Even on days when my energy is low (what the book calls 'no spoons left'), I found many of the spells to be perfectly adaptable for 'low energy witchcraft.' This means you can still engage in meaningful self-care without feeling overwhelmed. For instance, a simple intention-setting ritual with a favorite crystal, or a moment of reflection with an essential oil, can be incredibly potent for fostering inner happiness. It's about consistency and gentle practice, not perfection. This book has given me tools to not only manage the daily grind but to genuinely thrive, connecting me deeper to my own inner nebula of strength and joy.
