Senioritis

This is a more vulnerable post by me, but I feel like it is necessary. ❤️

I’m so thankful for my education and the ability to study computer science at the best time ever historically for technology! I’m also taking robotics and cybersecurity courses! They’re genuinely so interesting to me and I’m now looking into network-related careers.

At the same time I’m ready for a new chapter. I’m feeling stressed by the assignments and consistent due dates every day of the week. I’m ready to not be a student anymore, but I have to get through the last 8 weeks until graduation day. I keep hearing time will fly by, but if anything it feels like time is dragging.

Anybody who has felt this or feels this way, please comment below! I know I’m not the only one, so I’d love to hear some tips on how to push through the end of the semester strong.

... Read moreAs graduation approaches, many students experience senioritis, a phenomenon characterized by feelings of burnout and lack of motivation. This is particularly common among those pursuing challenging fields like computer science, robotics, and cybersecurity. With a tight schedule filled with assignments and deadlines, it's essential to manage stress effectively to finish strong. To combat feelings of dread, consider implementing a structured study schedule that allows for breaks and personal time. Engaging with peers through study groups may also alleviate feelings of isolation, while sharing concerns can foster a sense of community. Additionally, setting small, manageable goals can maintain motivation as you near graduation. Surround yourself with positive influences and seek advice from those who’ve successfully navigated this phase. Remember, it’s okay to seek help—whether through friends, mentors, or professional support. Lastly, practicing self-care—such as maintaining a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and ensuring you get enough sleep—can significantly impact your mental health. Celebrating small victories along the way can help you maintain a positive outlook, empowering you to embrace your last few weeks of school as an opportunity for personal growth and accomplishment.
