Doing Bible study at a coffee shop with your sis!

Ft. my Bible notes journal from Steadfast and Sustained! Here are more details:

HOW TO USE THE BIBLE NOTES JOURNAL: It's simple! First, choose a chapter of the Bible to read. Then take notes by following the format:

1. SCRIPTURE: Write 4 verses that stand out, you want to remember, or you want to take notes on.

2. KEY TAKEAWAYS: Fill out the "key takeaways" section with what you're learning! Tip: use a study Bible or read a commentary for more insight on the scripture.

3. REFLECTION QUESTIONS: Answer these fun prompts including prayer requests, praise reports, and more. The questions change every 7 pages and then repeat.

4. NOTES: Use this section for whatever you'd like! Write more takeaways, another verse, a list of what you're thankful for, etc.

5. PRAYER: Write a prayer to apply what you read, thank God, ask for a prayer request, or pray about anything else on your heart.

... Read moreI absolutely adore my coffee shop Bible study sessions – there's just something about the cozy ambiance, the gentle hum of conversations, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee that helps me focus and feel closer to God. It’s become such a cherished ritual, especially when I make it a Bible & coffee date with my sister! We often grab our favorite lattes, settle into a comfy corner, and open our journals. It turns a simple study into a special time of connection and spiritual growth. If you're thinking about trying a coffee shop Bible study, here are a few extra tips I've picked up along the way to make your experience even more enriching. First, choosing your scripture for the day can feel a little daunting. Sometimes I'll be working through a specific book of the Bible, but other times I just need a word. In those moments, I love to pray and ask God to guide me to a passage. I might also think about what's been on my heart recently – a struggle, a praise, or a question – and look for scriptures that speak to that particular theme. Websites like BibleGateway or apps can be great for searching keywords if you need a starting point. Don't feel pressured to read an entire chapter; sometimes focusing on just a few verses, like John 3:16, allows for a deeper dive and more meaningful reflection, especially when you're journaling. Another thing that makes these sessions so special is the aesthetic. While my Bible notes journal is a huge part of it, I also love to bring my favorite pen, maybe a highlighter, and of course, my coffee. It makes the whole experience feel intentional and enjoyable. It's not just about getting through a task; it's about creating a sacred, personal space even in a bustling environment. I've found that having a dedicated 'bible study desk' setup, even if it's just a small table at the cafe, really helps me get into the right mindset. Beyond just taking notes, journaling in those dedicated sections – Key Takeaways, Reflection Questions, and Prayer – allows for a unique kind of engagement. It’s not just about passively reading; it’s about actively processing, questioning, and applying God's word to your life. For instance, when I fill out the 'Reflection Questions,' I often find myself uncovering deeper insights into how a verse applies to my current circumstances. And the 'Prayer' section is invaluable; it helps me articulate my gratitude, fears, and requests, turning my study into a direct conversation with God. When I'm with my sister, we sometimes share our reflections or prayer requests, which really strengthens our bond and encourages us both in our faith journeys. It’s like having an informal ‘open bible study group’ right there at our table, fostering accountability and shared spiritual growth. This method truly transforms simple bible note taking into a powerful tool for spiritual formation. It's a wonderful way to pause, reflect, and let God's word truly sink into your heart, making your faith journey more vibrant and personal.
