Yesterday we went to the mall for trick or treating with Zarisa, my boyfriend, and her godfather 🎃👻

I wasn’t planning on doing anything for myself, but when I saw they were doing free piercings (and I only had to pay for the jewelry), I decided to just go for it. It might sound small, but for me… it was a big step.

These past few months, I’ve been trying to heal really heal. From emotional abuse, from constantly feeling like I wasn’t enough, from being made to believe that something was wrong with me. I’ve been dealing with so many confidence issues, body dysmorphia, and just not recognizing the person in the mirror anymore. I used to pick myself apart so badly that I forgot what it felt like to love myself.

I’m still learning how to undo the damage that words and silence can cause. I’m learning that my worth doesn’t depend on how someone else sees me, treats me, or loves me. I’ve realized that healing isn’t pretty it’s messy, it’s painful, and it takes time. But it’s also freeing.

My relationship hasn’t been easy. I’ve been holding onto hope that we can heal, that maybe love can find its way back in a healthier form. But I also know that if it doesn’t, at least I’m healing. At least I’m finding myself again.

Because I deserve to look in the mirror and not hate what I see. I deserve to feel pretty, to feel confident, to love myself again. And if my relationship ends up not healing, at least I’ll be okay healed, stronger, and still the best mom I can be for my daughter. 💖
