I never thought I’d be saying this… but I totally get the Dexcom G6 hype now. 😂💙

I’ve been trying it out because a friend switched to the G7 and gave me her extra supplies, and honestly I’ve fallen in love with it. After using the G7 for about two years, I wasn’t expecting to like the G6 this much.

A little while back I mentioned that if anyone had extra G6 sensors sitting around so I could finish using my transmitters, I’d gladly take them. One of the sweetest people in this community reached out and mailed me her extras. 🥹

Seriously, thank you.

So here’s another sensor change! 💙

Now I have to ask… are you Team G6 or Team G7? 👀

... Read moreAs someone living with type 1 diabetes, managing blood glucose levels smoothly is always a top priority. After using the Dexcom G7 for around two years, switching back to the G6 seemed unlikely to excite me—but it truly did. The compact design, reliability, and affordability of the G6 sensors make it a strong contender even alongside newer models. What I really appreciated about the G6 sensor was the seamless integration with transmitters I already own, which helps reduce waste and cost. Plus, community generosity, like receiving extra G6 sensors from fellow users, reflects how supportive diabetic networks can empower daily management efforts. In terms of performance, the G6 sensor provides consistent glucose readings with minimal calibration need, offering peace of mind without extra hassle. It’s also great for those who prefer a tried-and-tested device and may not need the features offered by the newer G7. If you are deciding between the two, consider what fits your lifestyle best—whether it’s the latest tech or proven effectiveness. I definitely recommend trying out the G6 if you get the chance; it might surprise you as it did me. Ultimately, being able to share real experiences helps us all make better choices for living well with diabetes.

I am finishing up my G6 , I have not tried the G7 yet. When I run out of my G6 and can’t get anymore,I will pay my $90 copay so I can see my endocrinologist and get new prescriptions for G7 and refills for everything else and bloodwork.
