Meet my baby kitties guys!! I get really anxious and stressed out with college and life stuff and having my cats around makes such a huge difference. They’re my little support system.
Frodo Baggins: He is four years old, I got him when I first moved out in 2020 so he was such a wonderful companion during quarantine. He’s my first ever cat. I remember on the way home after I got him, he wouldn’t stop crying in the car and I got so worried that he wouldn’t warm up to me but fortunately I was wrong. I used to be kind of scared of cats and he’s helped me learn so much about them. He lets me carry him around like a baby and he loves tummy rubs. He’s the best little heater in the winter. He’s also very patient with me.
Henry Yuki: He is the little white one. He’s almost 1 year old. The first time I saw him he hopped right into my arms and it was love at first site. He likes to follow me everywhere and he talks nonstop. He doesn’t really enjoy pets that much but he loves it when I hold him and he loves sitting in my lap. I’m always carrying him around my house. He’s so animated and intelligent, I learn new things about him everyday.
... Read moreIt's incredible how much comfort a furry friend can bring, especially when life gets hectic. My Frodo Baggins, or Frodo the Cat as I often call him, truly is a special soul. I still remember the day I brought him home in 2020, right when the world felt upside down. He wasn't just a pet; he became my anchor, my constant companion during those uncertain quarantine days, shaping himself into a true lifelong friend. That car ride home, with him crying tiny meows, feels like a distant memory now, because he quickly settled in and showed me what unconditional feline love is all about.
Before Frodo, I honestly had a bit of a reservation about cats. I'd never had one, and their independent nature sometimes seemed a little intimidating. But Frodo changed everything. He patiently taught me how to understand cat signals, how to appreciate a slow blink, and the pure joy of a purring furball on your lap. He's incredibly tolerant – he lets me carry him around like a baby, which I know isn't every cat's cup of tea! And those tummy rubs? He absolutely adores them, sprawling out and soaking up every stroke. In the winter months, he transforms into my personal little heater, curling up close and radiating warmth, which is just the best feeling.
His presence is a huge part of how I manage my college stress and daily anxieties. There’s something so grounding about having a creature who relies on you, yet also offers such simple, profound comfort. Just watching him nap peacefully, or hearing his soft purr, can shift my perspective and calm my racing thoughts. He’s a reminder to slow down, to appreciate the quiet moments, and to find joy in the little things. Having Frodo around also helps me maintain a sense of routine. Feeding times, playtime, and evening cuddles provide structure, which is surprisingly helpful when everything else feels chaotic. It's a small commitment that brings immense rewards.
Frodo Baggins isn't just a cat; he's a furry therapist. He doesn't judge, he just offers quiet companionship and a warm presence. He's taught me so much about patience and unconditional love, lessons that extend beyond our bond. He truly embodies the spirit of a lifelong friend, always there, always understanding in his own feline way.
And then there's Henry Yuki, my little white shadow, who complements Frodo's calm demeanor with his playful chatter. While Frodo taught me about gentle companionship, Henry reminds me of the vibrant, curious side of feline life. They both contribute so much to our household dynamic, creating a loving and supportive environment that truly feels like home. Frodo Baggins, my first cat, paved the way for this wonderful journey, showing me that sometimes, the greatest support system comes on four paws. It's a bond I wouldn't trade for anything.
