Random Unexpected Pregnany Symptoms
One thing that surprise me was the nosebleed I had for my last pregnancy with my daughter at that time that was my fourth time being pregnant and I got random nosebleed that I thought was something wrong but it’s actually really normal with this pregnancy. No nosebleed just yet thank God, but every pregnancy is different and you’d be surprised what your body will show you.

Speaking of unexpected pregnancy quirks, has anyone else dealt with that WILD smell sensitivity? Seriously, it's like my nose suddenly gained superpowers, but not in a good way! With my pregnancy, certain smells became absolutely unbearable, even things I used to love. I remember walking into my kitchen and the scent of freshly brewed coffee, which usually brings me so much joy, suddenly made my stomach churn. It was a complete shock! It wasn't just coffee either. My husband's deodorant, the laundry detergent, even just the smell of the fridge when I opened it – everything was amplified and often nauseating. It felt like I was constantly holding my breath or trying to find a corner of the house that didn't have any scent. It definitely freaked me out at first, making me wonder if something was wrong, similar to how random nosebleeds can be unsettling. But turns out, this heightened sense of smell, or hyperosmia, is a super common, albeit annoying, pregnancy symptom! Apparently, it's all those surging hormones, especially estrogen, doing their thing. They can make your olfactory receptors extra sensitive, turning everyday aromas into powerful, sometimes unpleasant, experiences. It's truly one of those random unexpected pregnancy symptoms that catch you off guard, just like the nosebleeds I experienced. It’s amazing how our bodies adapt and change in so many ways during this time. Learning to cope with it became a daily mission. Here are a few things that really helped me: Identify and Avoid Triggers: I quickly learned which smells were the worst offenders and tried to steer clear. This sometimes meant my husband had to switch to unscented products, or I had to delegate fridge cleaning duty! Fresh Air is Your Friend: Opening windows, going for walks outside, or even just stepping out onto the balcony for a few minutes whenever I felt overwhelmed by a smell was a lifesaver. Unscented Products: Switching to unscented soaps, lotions, and cleaning supplies made a huge difference around the house. Carry a "Safe" Scent: Some mamas find carrying a small vial of a pleasant essential oil (like lemon or peppermint) or even a spritz of a mild perfume on a tissue can help mask offensive smells in public. Bland Foods: During my worst smell sensitivity phases, I stuck to very bland foods to reduce strong cooking odors. Steamed veggies, plain rice, and simple toast became my go-to. It's incredible how every pregnancy journey brings its own unique set of surprises, whether it's random nosebleeds or an incredibly sensitive nose. Just remember, these symptoms, while sometimes uncomfortable or alarming, are often normal and usually temporary. Hang in there, mamas! Our bodies are doing amazing things, even if they're throwing us some curveballs along the way.
