... Read moreIf you love trying creative coffee drinks at home, the Elephant Ear Iced Latte is a must-try recipe that combines rich espresso flavors with buttery, sweet notes reminiscent of freshly baked pastries. Using a double shot of espresso brewed with brown sugar, shortbread syrup, caramel sauce, and a pinch of ground cinnamon creates a deeply satisfying latte base that adds warmth and sweetness without overpowering the coffee. I personally find that using oat milk works best in this iced latte, as it adds creaminess while complementing the caramel and cinnamon tones. You can always adjust the milk type and quantity to suit your preference, whether you want a lighter or richer drink. The buttery pastry cold foam is what really elevates this latte — by frothing heavy cream with vanilla syrup and butter extract, you get a silky, smooth topping that mimics the flavor of a fresh pastry. In my experience, frothing the cold foam to the right consistency is key; it should be thick enough to hold its shape on top of the iced latte but still light enough to enjoy sipping through. Adding caramel sauce and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top finishes the drink beautifully, providing a caramelized, slightly spicy crunch with every sip. One tip I'd share is to brew your espresso directly with the brown sugar and syrups so the flavors blend well from the start, giving you that signature Elephant Ear flavor. And don’t forget to fill the cup with plenty of ice to keep your latte refreshingly cold. Whether you're recreating the experience of a state fair treat or simply craving a decadent iced coffee drink, this recipe captures the best of both worlds — the comfort of a sweet pastry and the boldness of espresso. It’s perfect for sharing on social media or enjoying a cozy afternoon at home. Give it a try and see how the sweet, buttery notes enhance your regular iced latte!
