Jesus Is the Answer
People who want to control you, because they think you must just want to sin without consequences, love to point out "proof texts" to us who understand that we are under grace as evidence that we can loose our salvation.
Do not be deceived, dear saints. Jesus is our witness that we receive eternal life when we are born again. The Holy Spirit is the seal on our "new birth" certificate as evidence that our inheritance is ensured. Rest in your faith. Rest in Christ. Don't let those who are misled give you cause for doubt.
Any passage of scripture that seems to counter what Jesus promised to them that believe in him, must be understood in light of the gospel truth of eternal life.
Here's one of those type of verses. It is at the end of the Book of Revelation written by the Apostle John while he was in exile on the Island of Patmos.

Revelation 22:19 NASB
"and if anyone takes away from the 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book."
When I looked up the original text in the Greek out of Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, the Greek word used and translated into English as "words," is λόγος, phonetically pronounced log'-os, and ... Watch this ... it means, "something said (including the thought); by implication a topic (subject of discourse) also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive; by extension a computation; specifically (with the article in John) the Divine Expression (𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭)."
It is the same word used in the opening chapter of John's Gospel to describe Jesus.

The Apostle John used the same Greek word "λόγος," or logos, there too.
Of course, if you "take away" the word, that is, Jesus, then you have no part in the kingdom of heaven. If you wonder if Revelation 22:19 is contradicting Jesus, who IS the word, that's the answer.

It is a reminder that faith is not blind but is rooted in a coherent, loving divine plan.
