A legalistic person said this to me about legalism.
👇👇👇
"That word legalism is not in the Bible but coined by humans to justify their own chosen beliefs."
Here's how I responded.

"Would you prefer "judaizing?" That's in Galatians 2:14 KJV, "But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the 𝙅𝙚𝙬𝙨, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the 𝙅𝙚𝙬𝙨?"
The word "Jews" was translated from the Greek word Ἰουδαΐ́ζω, pronounced ee-oo-dah-id'-zo, and it means, according to Strong's, "to become a Judaean that is "𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗮𝗶𝘇𝗲": - live as the Jews."
Thayer's Bible Dictionary defines it as, "to adopt Jewish customs and rites, imitate the Jews, Judaise."
So.... judaizing IS in the Bible.
Judaizing is LEGALISM.
