Proverbs 14:12 NASB
"There is a way which seems right to a person, But its end is the way of death."
Yes, and that way, even from the garden, is to try and gain the knowledge of the difference between good and evil so they can do for themselves what God wants. It's self righteousness. THAT'S the way that seems right to mankind, but it leads to death.
Jesus leads to life everlasting! He 𝗶𝘀 the way. ✝️
Reflecting on Proverbs 14:12, it’s clear that many of us face the challenge of discerning the true path in life. The verse warns us that what often seems right to us may actually lead us astray. From personal experience, I’ve noticed how easy it is to fall into the trap of self-righteousness — trying to justify ourselves or earn God’s favor through our own understanding or rules. This approach, while tempting, ultimately isolates us and disconnects us from the grace and guidance that faith in Jesus provides. In my own journey, I struggled with legalism, believing that strict adherence to laws and moral codes would be the answer. However, this often led to feelings of doubt and fear, mirroring the enemy's attempt to undermine trust in God’s word. It wasn’t until I embraced faith and belief in Jesus’ promise of life everlasting that I truly understood the freedom of walking the right way — not by my own wisdom, but through His guidance and love. This struggle and eventual revelation highlight a vital message for everyone: trusting in Jesus is not simply a religious act but a life-changing experience. It reshapes our perspective from self-reliance to reliance on divine grace. No matter how convincing other paths may seem, they pale in comparison to the eternal life and peace that come from following Jesus. In this light, Proverbs 14:12 serves as a profound reminder to evaluate our choices carefully and courageously trust in the way that brings life, not death.
