Here is why I leftLemon8..
Leaving a community like Lemon8 can be a significant decision, often influenced by changes in personal circumstances. For content creators, balancing professional commitments and personal interests is crucial. In my case, the initiation of the fall semester combined with a promotion at work left me with less time to engage with my Lemon8 activities. As my work responsibilities increased, I found myself struggling to maintain the level of content contribution expected in the platform. Moreover, content creation can sometimes become overwhelming, especially when inspiration wanes. I experienced uncertainty about the types of posts to make, as well as feelings of inadequacy that stemmed from my physical appearance on social media, such as not having my nails done. These aspects made it difficult for me to present content that I felt was authentic and worthy of sharing. Another contributing factor was my access to essential resources while on the go; for instance, my local Starbucks was closed, which disrupted my usual content creation routine. Many creators face similar challenges, and it's vital to recognize that it's okay to step back when needed. Taking a break or reassessing one’s priorities can be beneficial for mental health and creative output. This decision does not signify failure but rather a period of rejuvenation and reevaluation of one's creative journey. It's essential for content creators to acknowledge their limitations and prioritize self-care while navigating the exciting yet demanding landscape of social media.
