Book Review
📖 Kingdom of Shadow and Wings
✍🏻 Nina Frost
Kingdom of Shadows and Wings was a really fun read. After Lark’s sister disappears from Flighthaven, Lark is forced to take her place and step into a world she was never meant to be part of. She has to face her fear of flying, learn how to fight, and figure out how to survive in a place where everyone else seems far more prepared than she is. There’s elemental magic, flying creatures, and plenty of action that keeps the story moving.
I really enjoyed the slow-burn romance with the broody flight instructor. Their dynamic and tension were fun to read. Lark herself is genuinely funny, and I loved the camaraderie between her and the people around her. The story moved at a steady pace that kept me turning the pages. Every time I thought I had it figured out, something shifted, and the twists at the end were genuinely jaw-dropping.
Overall, this was an enjoyable, fast-moving fantasy with a likable main character and enough twists to keep things interesting. By the end, I was hooked and definitely looking forward to the next book.
