... Read moreOkay, so you guys know the absolute thrill of getting that "You've got a VoxBox!" email from Influenster, right? It's like a mini Christmas morning! This time, I was lucky enough to receive a Kiss Nails VoxBox, and I couldn't wait to dive in. For those not familiar, Influenster is this amazing platform where you can get free products to test and review based on your social media activity and interests. It's a fantastic way to discover new brands and share your honest opinions with a community of fellow beauty enthusiasts. My box this time was all about Kiss Nails, and specifically, their vegan nail lacquer. As someone who’s been trying to incorporate more conscious choices into my beauty routine, the "vegan" aspect immediately caught my eye. Opening the box, I was greeted with a few gorgeous shades – a lovely classic red, a chic nude, and a shimmering top coat. The packaging felt sleek and modern, and I was excited to put them to the test. First up, application. I prepped my nails as usual, starting with a base coat. The brush on these Kiss vegan lacquers felt really smooth and easy to control, which is a huge plus for someone like me who sometimes struggles with getting a clean line. The formula itself wasn't too thick or too thin; it flowed nicely onto the nail without flooding the cuticles. I found that two coats gave me perfect, opaque coverage for both the red and the nude shades. Drying time was pretty decent too – not super fast like some quick-dry formulas, but definitely not an eternity either. I'd say I was good to go within 10-15 minutes between coats. Now for the real test: longevity. I'm pretty hard on my nails, so I always put polishes through the wringer. I applied the top coat and went about my week, doing everything from washing dishes (with gloves, mostly!) to typing away on my laptop. I was genuinely impressed! I managed to get a solid 5-6 days of wear with minimal chipping, mostly just slight tip wear. For a mainstream brand and a vegan formula, I think that's fantastic. You often hear about "vegan" polishes not performing as well, but Kiss definitely delivered here. What does "vegan nail lacquer" even mean, anyway? Essentially, it means the polish contains no animal-derived ingredients. Traditional polishes can sometimes use ingredients like guanine (from fish scales for shimmer), carmine (crushed beetles for red pigment), or even beeswax. Choosing vegan options is great for animal welfare, but often these formulas are also "free" of other harsh chemicals like formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP – making them a potentially healthier choice for your nails too. It’s a win-win in my book! Overall, my experience with the Kiss vegan nail lacquer from my Influenster VoxBox was overwhelmingly positive. The colors were vibrant, application was a breeze, and the wear time exceeded my expectations for a vegan formula. If you're looking for an affordable, accessible, and high-performing vegan nail polish, I would absolutely recommend giving these a try. They're perfect for everyday wear or for adding a pop of color for a special occasion. You can usually find Kiss products at drugstores like CVS, Walgreens, or even big box retailers like Walmart and Target. Happy painting, everyone!
