Easiest Veggie to Grow 🫶

From farm to table radishes are some of the best vegetables! They are easy to grow and oh so delicious 😋

From seed to harvest you can have a radish in just 1-2 months.

Here I did a simple radish pesto. Just replacing basil leaves with radish leaves in my pesto recipe. For the radishes, I just seasoned them, tosssed in olive oil, and cooked at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. SO easy and so good.

... Read moreGrowing radishes at home is a rewarding experience for both beginner and experienced gardeners. I started planting radishes in my garden because they require minimal effort and space, and the harvest comes surprisingly fast compared to other veggies. One of the best things about radishes is their quick germination; the seeds sprout in as little as 3-5 days, allowing you to see results quickly. In my gardening routine, I found that radishes thrive best in cool weather, making early spring or fall the ideal planting seasons. They can be grown densely since they don't need much room to expand underground, and regular watering is key to keep the roots tender and avoid them becoming woody. Aside from harvesting the radish bulbs, don’t overlook the leaves. As this article suggests, radish leaves are edible and quite flavorful when used creatively. I often use them as a substitute for herbs in pesto and salads, which adds a peppery twist that's both fresh and bold. Roasting radishes tossed in olive oil, salt, and pepper at a high temperature like 425°F softens their sharpness and brings out a lovely sweetness—a perfect side dish that is quick and effortless. Another tip is to stagger your planting every two weeks to enjoy a continuous supply of radishes throughout the growing season. This method keeps my kitchen stocked with fresh, homegrown produce and encourages me to experiment more with radishes in recipes. With just basic care and simple cooking techniques, radishes can become a staple in your farm-to-table lifestyle, offering fresh flavors and healthy options all season long.
