23 days away from my first Hyrox!

Anyone else struggle with body dysmorphia? Always fighting the I’m not skinny enough, not lean, no six pack- but gotta remind myself I’ve created 4 children. I used to think I had to have that specific physique to run, train for things like Hyrox, etc. Even now I’ll catch myself feeling not good enough. Anywho, just wanted to share so if you’re struggling with this too, you’re not alone. Thanks for coming to my ted talk 😂 #mom #hyrox #inspo #training #youcandoit

Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) can significantly affect self-esteem, especially in fitness communities where the focus is often on achieving an ideal physique. It's essential to recognize that your worth isn't solely determined by your appearance or athletic achievements. The Hyrox event, known for its intense physical challenges and community support, serves as an excellent platform for personal growth. Many mothers may relate to the struggle of reconciling their post-pregnancy bodies with athletic aspirations. Embracing body positivity and self-acceptance is crucial. Engaging in workouts designed for functional fitness, like those offered by Hyrox, can help improve physical health while fostering a positive body image. This journey is about celebrating your body for what it can do, not just how it looks. Remember, fitness is not a destination but a journey, and every step counts, no matter your physical state. Share your experiences and support one another in this empowering community!
