Li River in Yangshuo, Guilin, Guangxi, China

... Read moreIf you're planning a visit to Guangxi, I highly recommend adding a bamboo rafting trip on the Li River in Yangshuo to your itinerary. This unique form of rafting offers a peaceful and intimate way to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of karst mountains and tranquil river waters. The bamboo rafts are traditionally crafted, allowing you to glide gently downstream while taking in panoramic views that are often compared to traditional Chinese paintings. During my trip, the weather was surprisingly mild at 11 degrees Celsius, which made the experience even more enjoyable without feeling chilly. The locals were curious about my light clothing, but I found that the fresh, crisp air enhanced the feeling of freedom on the river. Along the way, you will often spot fishermen using cormorants to catch fish, adding a cultural touch to the scenic ride. Besides the rafting itself, Yangshuo offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, photography, and exploring rural villages. The area is well-known for its hospitality and scenic spots, perfect for travelers who appreciate nature and cultural richness. Whether you are seeking adventure or relaxation, bamboo rafting on the Li River is truly an unforgettable experience that allows you to connect with the serene beauty of southern China.
