i’ve been to korea twice now and it never fails me. i’ve made friends there and musicians. i’ve never felt safer than when im there. the nicest people, with great values, respect, and culture. no 🔫s are allowed so that’s a huge part of what makes me feel safe there.
you could literally drop your wallet, come back to where you left it an hour later, and find it on the side waiting for you. you could leave your laptop out at a cafe while you use the restroom and no one will steal it.
i’ve been studying korean culture and the language for years. i’m still not fluent, but it’s a huge plus when i come to visit. people will respect you for this.
there’s so many places to adventure to. try to learn at least a little about their culture and learn how to say some phrases before visiting. not everyone there speaks english. i’ve made friends with people that i never would have before because of the language barrier.
visit historical places like gyeongbokgung palace. you can wear a traditional dress (hanbok) to get in for free. people in korea are appreciative to see foreigners doing this. the first time i went to korea i went by myself because i knew i’d be safe. so if you’re thinking of doing a solo trip to korea i highly encourage it!!
