Your Morning Stomach Might Hate This 👀
Not all “healthy” foods feel great first thing in the morning.
Some are easy, gentle, and steady. Others can be a little aggressive before your stomach has had anything else.
Save this for tomorrow morning before you grab coffee on an empty stomach ☕️
Be honest: what’s the first thing you usually eat or drink? #morning #startyourdayright #guthealth #digestion #wellness
Starting the day with the right foods can make a significant difference to how your stomach feels and how your energy levels hold up throughout the morning. From personal experience, I’ve noticed that drinking coffee or consuming sugary drinks on an empty stomach often leads to discomfort and an energy crash later on. These can irritate the stomach lining or cause blood sugar spikes, which then drop quickly, leading to more cravings. On the other hand, gentle and nutrient-rich options like plain oatmeal and soft-boiled eggs provide steady energy without upsetting digestion. Oatmeal is a great choice because it’s high in fiber and slowly releases energy. Soft-boiled eggs offer easily digestible protein that doesn’t overwhelm the stomach. Bananas and spinach are also easy on the stomach and supply essential vitamins and minerals to start the day off right. I’ve also found that avoiding harder-to-digest foods like fried items, processed meats, and almonds early in the morning helps reduce bloating and discomfort. Greek yogurt is another excellent option as it's packed with probiotics that promote gut health. Ultimately, listening to your body and choosing foods that nourish your digestion first thing can vastly improve your morning wellness. Next time you wake up, try reaching for gentle foods instead of coffee or sugary treats on an empty stomach, and observe how much better your gut feels throughout the day.

I usually chug a rockstar within 5 minutes of getting out of bed and lately I’ve been on a chili kick so I eat leftover chili (my chili is just hamburger, tomato soup and kidney beans)…then I complain about how much my stomach hurts all day
