My other tattoo 🐠

this was my first tattoo I got!

the back story - I was pregnant (3 months along) and our baby was CRAZY inside my tummy hahaha he would always kick and "swim" around non stop! We called him fish! 🐠🩷

sadly I did miscarry at 3 months.. which was a horrible experience. it happened during the day and lasted til night until I passed it naturally. I had to go get surgery to "remove" everything that was left behind... I will never feel pain like that.. ever again (emotional pain)

I try to incorporate fish with everything! I have a fish blanket, bag, decorations... everything.

this tattoo really healed me. He is on my body, I see him everyday. On hard days I can just look on my arm and feel calm.

the DNA is because he was a part of me

the forget me nots are a purple flower people plant to remember someone by... and obviously, the fish, is my baby.

I don't think I'll ever recover from the loss... but I kno this tattoo helps SO much.

this tattoo is also how I fell in love with them! I definitely want more tattoos in the future!!

For many, a memorial tattoo becomes a deeply personal and permanent tribute. The beautiful combination of forget-me-not flowers, a DNA strand, and a fish in a tattoo, as seen in many heartfelt designs, speaks volumes about enduring love and connection. Forget-me-not flowers are perhaps one of the most poignant symbols of remembrance. Their delicate beauty and meaningful name instantly convey a message of eternal memory, making them a popular choice for honoring someone dearly missed. They remind us that even though someone may no longer be physically present, their spirit and impact remain forever in our hearts. The inclusion of a DNA strand in a memorial tattoo subtly yet powerfully highlights the unbreakable genetic and spiritual bond shared with a lost child or loved one. It signifies that a part of them, their essence, is forever intertwined with yours, a constant reminder of the life that was, and the love that continues. A fish, often symbolizing life, fertility, good luck, and often representing a child, can hold incredibly tender meaning in a memorial tattoo. For many, a 'little fish' might be a cherished nickname or a symbol chosen during pregnancy, making it a unique and personal representation of a lost baby. The movement of fish also reminds us of the flow of life, even through sorrow. If you're considering a fish motif, exploring different types like a serene koi (as some queries suggest) can add layers of meaning, symbolizing strength and perseverance through adversity. Beyond these powerful symbols, there are countless ways to design a miscarriage or child loss memorial tattoo. Many choose footprints or handprints, birth dates, celestial elements like stars or moons, or even a tiny set of angel wings. Rainbows are a beautiful symbol for 'rainbow babies' after loss, representing hope and new beginnings. Consider what specific elements resonate most with your unique journey and connection. The act of getting a memorial tattoo can itself be a significant step in healing. It provides a tangible way to carry your loved one with you, to acknowledge their existence, and to process your grief. It can be a source of solace, a conversation starter, and a beautiful, visible testament to love that transcends life. When planning your own memorial tattoo, take time to reflect on the symbols that hold the deepest personal meaning for you. Choose an artist who understands the emotional weight of the piece, ensuring your tribute is not just beautiful art but a profound expression of love and memory. Your tattoo can be a powerful anchor, offering comfort on difficult days and a constant reminder of the love that never fades.
