I've personally met so many beautiful souls who are devout Christians and also identify as LGBTQ+. They're not striving to be 'better' in the sense of changing who they are, but rather striving to live a life aligned with love, kindness, and service, just as any Christian would. For them, their identity is part of who God made them to be, and their faith is a source of affirmation, not condemnation. It really comes down to a personal wrestling match with scripture, prayer, and community. Finding a church or a faith community that is affirming and welcoming can make all the difference. There are many churches out there that openly embrace LGBTQ+ individuals and celebrate their full inclusion in all aspects of church life. These spaces offer a place where you don't have to choose between your faith and your identity, but can integrate them authentically. Ultimately, my personal opinion is that God's love is expansive and unconditional. The journey of faith is about growing closer to God, striving to live a life of love and compassion, and extending grace to ourselves and others. If someone feels called to both their Christian faith and their LGBTQ+ identity, who are we to say that's not possible? What matters most is the heart, the intention, and the genuine desire to connect with the divine. It's truly about love who you wanna love, while living a life that reflects God's goodness.
