No AC until a client comes in 😂
Running a business during a summer heatwave can be challenging, especially when the electric bill skyrockets to $700 on a 90° day. From personal experience, one effective way to manage high energy costs is to turn off the air conditioning until clients actually visit the space. This not only saves a significant amount on electricity but also ensures that the premises stay comfortable when it matters most. In addition to postponing AC use, I found several other strategies helpful. Utilizing fans can circulate air efficiently with much lower energy consumption. Keeping blinds or curtains closed during peak sunlight hours reduces indoor heat buildup. Also, scheduling heavy electric usage tasks like laundry or dishwashing during cooler evening hours can help further lower the bill. Another key tip is to regularly maintain the AC units by cleaning filters and ensuring they're running optimally. Sometimes, inefficient AC systems can contribute to unnecessarily high bills. Finally, considering smart thermostats can automate temperature control, allowing the space to cool just before clients arrive without wasting energy throughout the day. Balancing comfort and operational costs requires some planning but using these methods can make even the hottest days manageable for business owners concerned about energy expenses.
