Please help 🙏🫶
After years of hard work, I recently completed my Master of Social Work degree and am currently awaiting licensure so I can begin the career I’ve worked so hard to build.
I have accepted a position in community mental health working with foster children and families, which is an opportunity that means so much to me and aligns with my passion for helping others. Unfortunately, the onboarding process, background checks, and training mean that I likely won’t be able to begin working and receiving a paycheck for several weeks.
At the same time, I unexpectedly lost my previous source of income and have been navigating this transition largely on my own. I am separated, have very limited financial support, and have been doing everything I can to bridge the gap through selling belongings and pursuing gig work while I wait for my new role to begin. I have been actively seeking additional employment and bills have been piling up quickly. My housing and transportation are in jeopardy if I don’t bridge this gap quickly.
Asking for help does not come naturally to me. I’ve spent my life being the person who shows up for others, and my career choice reflects that. However, I find myself in a position where I need support to get through this final stretch before I can stand on my own feet again.
Any contribution, whether it’s a donation, sharing this fundraiser, purchasing items I’m selling, or simply offering encouragement, would mean more than I can adequately express. The funds raised will go toward essential living expenses, including rent, utilities, transportation, and basic necessities while I complete this transition into my new role serving vulnerable children and families. Any remaining funds will be poured into working with children and families with behavioral health issues.
Thank you for believing in me during this difficult season. I am incredibly hopeful that brighter days are ahead, and I look forward to paying this kindness forward through the work I have dedicated my life to doing.
