Mayapple fruit ☀️
🤩🥳 what’s squishy, yellow, delicious, and smells like an exotic tropical fruit? A ripe Mayapple! We battled bugs, animals, people, and the right timing of Mother Nature to finally find our first 9 EVER last year. The fruit has a tropical taste, I’d say a mix between a grape, pineapple, and passion fruit. Every part of this plant is toxic except the pulp and gelatinous insides surrounding the seeds. We harvested enough to try some by themselves, made pudding with some of the others, and the rest was strained to get only the juice to put over ice cream.
