📸 Photography 101 — Day 3
Composition: Pretty picture, no need to put people in the middle of the frame.
Image 1 - Leading Lines (Line of Sight)
Note the corridor that curves into the back.
These lines serve to "take the viewer, walk into the picture."
Although the subject is by the frame, our eyes are naturally directed to him.
👉 Techniques for newbies:
Look for roads, corridors, fences, water edges, and use them as a line to bring people to the subject.
Image 2 - Rule of Thirds (Three-Part Rule)
The subject is placed on the left side of the image.
The riverine right area and the backdrop make the image "breathe."
The picture is not uncomfortable, and it looks more natural than putting the person in the middle.
👉 Techniques for newbies:
Open grid line in camera / mobile
Let's put people near the 1 / 3 line instead of in the middle of the picture.
Image 3 - Negative Space (Free Space)
A wide sky that eats up more than half the picture.
Make the subject look smaller and the image has a "lonely, calm, quiet" mood.
This is the use of "emptiness" to tell emotions, not just to beautify them.
👉 Techniques for newbies:
There's no need to put everything in the frame.
Sometimes "leaving space free" makes the picture more narrative.
Good images are not based on expensive cameras or deity lenses.
But it depends on "putting things into the frame in a meaningful way."
Today, try taking a picture without placing the model in the middle of the picture once.
You'll start to see that "photo" has its own language.
