When I finally decided to transform my own space, I realized it's all about creating that 'overseas girl' vibe with thoughtful decor and magical lighting. First up, lighting is absolutely key. Forget harsh overhead lights! I started with LED strip lights around the ceiling and under my bed. They're amazing because you can change the color to match your mood – sometimes I go for a soft purple glow, other times a vibrant blue. For an extra touch of whimsy, string lights draped across my wall, sometimes even with cute little clips for photos, add a warm, inviting sparkle. I even got a projector light that casts serene patterns on my ceiling, making it feel like I'm sleeping under the stars. And honestly, a cloud-shaped neon light above my bed was a game-changer; it instantly elevates the dreamy aesthetic. Next, let's talk about comfort and texture. To truly get that cozy feeling, you need soft, inviting elements. I invested in a super fluffy white beanbag chair – it's perfect for curling up with a book. My bed is now a sanctuary with layers of soft bedding, including a lovely checkered blanket and, of course, a collection of cloud-shaped pillows. They're not just for sleeping; they add so much character! I even have a cute teddy bear snuggled amongst them, giving that youthful, sweet touch. And for those finishing touches that make a room truly 'you'? A dedicated vanity filled with beauty products is essential for that 'overseas girl' look, making getting ready feel luxurious. I also love incorporating subtle plant-like decor elements – even faux ones can bring a touch of nature and freshness to the space without the upkeep. Wall decor, like aesthetic prints or even tapestry-style art, can tie everything together. The best part? You don't have to break the bank to achieve this. I found so many of my favorite pieces from small businesses online, which adds a unique touch that you won't find everywhere. It’s all about mixing and matching, and letting your personality shine through. My room now feels like a personal retreat, a place where I can genuinely relax and feel inspired. Trust me, with a few key pieces like colorful LED lights, cloud decor, and super soft textures, you can transform your room into the dreamy haven you've always wanted!

Okay so I’ve been deathly sick and had to move my bedroom to my living room so I didn’t have to do stairs. I finally got a liver transplant in February and I’m able to go upstairs again but I want to redo the exile room first and I need help!!
