a realistic work day in my life

5/7 Edited to

... Read moreAs someone who has worked in marketing, I find that structuring the day efficiently is key to maintaining both productivity and sanity. Starting the morning with some skincare and quick makeup, as mentioned, really sets a positive tone—it helps you feel ready for video calls where you need to look awake and professional. Keeping your workspace clean, like organizing your desk, is a simple but effective habit I've adopted to clear my mind and focus better during long hours of strategizing and following up on campaigns. Meal prep during work hours can sometimes be a challenge, but it’s rewarding. Cooking something like Thai sweet chili beef bowls, as shared, offers a great balance of comfort and nourishment. It’s also a wonderful way to take a mental break from all the screen time. I’ve found that sharing meals or quick interactions with loved ones during the day can recharge your energy and motivation. The flow of meetings throughout the day, especially with colleagues handing over campaigns or discussing strategy, highlights how collaborative marketing roles truly are. I can relate to the importance of breaks, like the one taken to frame a print—it’s a good way to give your brain a rest while staying connected to creative aspects of projects. Handling unexpected tasks remotely, such as debugging campaigns from a car park or quickly launching campaigns late at night, is often part of the job. These moments call for flexibility and a reliable tech setup, especially in digital marketing roles where timely launches can affect campaign effectiveness. Finally, closing the day with a consistent skincare routine and personal care is a nice ritual to separate work from rest. It’s essential to find small daily routines that help wind down after a full workday. Balancing work demands with personal time, family, and self-care really helps maintain long-term productivity and job satisfaction in fast-paced marketing environments.

Did I keep to my 20K BTO Reno Budget?
Did I keep to my 20K BTO reno budget? No. My original reno-only target was $20,000, but my actual reno-only spend came up to $23,200 — and that excludes lighting, fixtures, furniture, and decor. What pushed the budget up wasn’t styling. It was the actual renovation work: * carpentry *
