the cutest widget ever 🥺

the other day, I was browsing around on instagram when I discovered the cutest widget app ever, a tamagotchi widget! this widget brings back so many memories for me. I remember taking care of my tamagotchi felt like the biggest responsibility I had as a kid 🤣 it's like a '90s throwback, envisioned as a widget! 🕹️👾

this app is called mochi pets and it was only recently released last year and an android version is on the way! it was developed by a brother and sister duo and I can definitely tell how much love they put into this project. this app incorporates iOS17 interactive widget features, so you can feed your virtual pet, pet it and play games, all while staying on your home screen! I just can't get over how cute the graphics are. did I mention you can fully customize the widget by choosing your own animal and changing the widget skins?

mochi pets is available on the app store for free (with in app purchases). hope you guys enjoy this one as much as I do!! 💕

... Read moreEver since I downloaded Mochi Pets, my iPhone home screen has been bursting with joy! I honestly can't get enough of this adorable Tamagotchi widget. It’s more than just an app; it’s a little slice of nostalgia that brings a smile to my face every time I unlock my phone. What I truly love is how interactive it is. You might wonder, "What exactly do you do with a Tamagotchi widget?" Well, it's surprisingly engaging! From my home screen, I can see my little pixelated pet, whether it's my charming pixelated cat or one of the other fantastic pixelated pet options like a frog or a pig from the 'PET SHELTER'. When it's hungry, a little food icon appears, and with a quick tap, I can feed it without even opening the full app. The attention to detail in the 'feeding screen' is delightful; you see your pet happily munching away, and it just makes your heart melt. The developers did a fantastic job with all the 'tamagotchi screen icons' – they're intuitive and super cute, guiding you through interactions effortlessly. Beyond just feeding, you can pet your virtual companion, play simple games to boost their happiness, and even clean up after them. It really gives you that classic 'tamagotchi life' feeling, but perfectly adapted for a modern smartphone. And the customization? Oh my goodness, it’s endless! I love being able to change not just my pet, but also the 'widget background options.' There are so many themes to choose from, from serene snowy scenes to vibrant rainbows, allowing me to truly 'customize the widget' to match my phone's aesthetic. For anyone who loves a 'kawaii' look or enjoys curating their 'aesthetichomescreen' with 'pusheen app icons' style cuteness, Mochi Pets fits right in. It’s like having a personalized, living wallpaper. I've tried a few 'tamagotchi like app' options, and even looked at 'widgetable virtual pet widget iOS,' but Mochi Pets really stands out. The interactive widget functionality is seamless, making it feel less like a separate app and more like an integral part of my phone. Plus, knowing it was created by a passionate brother and sister duo, you can truly feel the love and care poured into every pixel. It doesn't just mimic the classic Tamagotchi; it enhances the experience with thoughtful modern touches. And for all my friends with Android phones who’ve been feeling a little left out, good news! The developers have announced that a 'tamagotchi widget android' version is on its way. I can't wait for more people to experience this joy. It’s truly a gem among 'tamagotchi app' options and a fantastic way to rekindle those cherished childhood memories. If you're looking for a free, fun, and utterly adorable virtual pet experience for your iPhone, you HAVE to download Mochi Pets. You won't regret bringing this little dose of happiness into your daily routine!
