14 Days Nail Bootcamp In China 🫡
I signed up for Moding Academy’s 14-day beginner nail course alone on XHS back in late August 2025. It was my first time in Guangzhou, so I was nervous and a little out of my depth. However, I really wanted to pursue my interest in nails, so I just went for it✨
Every day we learned new techniques, tried different nail art styles, and practiced on our buddies. My mentors, Vicky and DoDo, were super friendly and helpful throughout the course.
Lessons are fast-paced, and since everything is taught in Chinese, it can be a bit challenging. My Chinese isn’t perfect, but I managed to understand about 70% of the content without translation.
It’s a ‘bootcamp’ for a reason — there were times I had to stay late to finish the day’s assignments 😅 So pace yourself, and remember the mentors are always there to help if needed.
The academy package is really convenient. It includes lessons, accommodation if needed, and all tools & materials, which you can even take home after the course! I skipped the accommodation and stayed nearby, which worked perfectly.
Disclaimer: I’ve heard mixed reviews on the academy’s accommodation, so it’s worth consulting the assistant you’re in contact with.
I wouldn’t have made it through without my course mates. Interacting, practicing, and sharing meals with them made the experience so much more fun and bearable 🥰

The tools and materials provided were top-notch and, best of all, we could take them home after the course, which helped me continue practicing independently. If you’re considering signing up, think about the accommodation options carefully. I opted to stay nearby rather than on-campus, which suited my preferences better. Also, don’t hesitate to engage with your classmates; the community spirit added a fun element and motivation to the intense days. Overall, this nail bootcamp offers a rewarding steep learning curve for beginners passionate about nail art. It’s a unique chance to learn hands-on techniques in authentic settings with expert guidance that I’m grateful to have experienced.
