5 Learn to Code Sites You Haven’t Heard Of

If you’re learning computer programming and want to know where to find FREE intermediate resources…here are some that I like!

Let me know if you’ve used any.

1. FullStackOpen

Free courses focused on building web apps. They teach React Native, GraphQL, Typescript, Containers and Databases. If you’re already done Freecodecamp or Odin Project, this is a good place to look next for some free info. (Ignore if you have no interest in web)

2. Codechef

This place has free courses in JavaScript, C, C++, Python and more. The main feature here is all the practice exercises they have. They have contests as well. There is a paid version, but there is plenty of content with the free option.

3. InterviewBit

Another practice focused site, this will help you get interview ready. The focus here is on implementing data structures, algorithms and solving system design problems. If you aren’t ready for this yet, stick with Codechef for now.

4. CSS-Tricks

Yes I know, CSS isn’t a programming language. But if you are trying to improve your web dev skills (a lot of self taught learners go this route) then keep this site bookmarked. You’ll learn industry standards and keep up to date with the latest in web dev news. (Not strictly CSS related, they cover many topics)

5. DevYoutubeList on GitHub

This is a GitHub repo filled and categorized with computer programming related YouTubers! There are so many channels on this list that will take the guesswork out of where to find the best tutorials. They include videos in other languages too. This list is great for both beginner and advanced learners.

⭐️⭐️⭐️Bonus

This site isn’t a place where you can learn per se, but is great for writing code! If you don’t have a proper environment set up on your computer, this site lets you play with code in your browser. There are other sites like this, but this one is my personal favorite.
