💿 Windows 11 Shortcut Hacks
Here are some shortcuts you may not know of in Windows 11.
I omitted the most basic ones (copy, paste, etc). I hope you learn something new and remember - it will take you longer to use them at first. Once the shortcuts are part of your routine, you’ll be lightning fast. ⚡️
These may or may not work in Windows 10 - most of them should though! Be sure to try them out.
File Explorer Shortcuts:
Use these in your windows folders but also most browsers. I use Chrome.
Alt + D - Select address bar
Ctrl + E - Select search
(Both of these let you immediately start typing in the top bar without moving your mouse)
Ctrl + N - Open a new window (Instead of just a tab)
Ctrl + W - Closes the current tab, closes the window if there’s only one tab.
Close a tab by accident? Don’t remember what it was?
Ctrl + Shift + T
Alt + Tab (hold alt down to see all windows you have open. If you press alt and tab quickly, you’ll switch to your most recent window)
If you’re copying and pasting it can be frustrating to open up notepad, paste, then copy again to get the plaintext. It took me way to long to know you can paste directly in plaintext with:
Ctrl + Shift + V
Alt + Right (or left) arrow - Go back or forward a page
