College And University Life Study Tips

Hey study fam! 📚✨ Midterm season is hitting HARD, and I know we're all feeling it. After my third coffee-fueled breakdown last semester, I finally found a system that's keeping me sane this time around! Sharing my lifesavers with you all...

Pomodoro Timer ⏱️

My ADHD brain wants to check TikTok every 3 minutes, but my 25/5 Pomodoro routine keeps me in check. I literally couldn't function without this—25 minutes of deep focus followed by a 5-minute break where I can do whatever. The timer makes focusing feel doable instead of overwhelming. Game. Changer.

TinyOrange Desktop App 💻

My holy grail for organization! I categorize all my tasks by class and then by urgency. The color-coding helps me visualize my workload, and having it on my desktop means I see it every time I open my laptop. No more "oh crap, I forgot about that assignment!" moments. This app single-handedly ended my last-minute cramming cycles.

Active Recall Notes 🧠

Ditched my highlighters and endless re-reading sessions (which were NOT working). Now I write questions on one side of flashcards and answers on the back, or I explain concepts out loud like I'm teaching someone else. My grades jumped from C's to A's when I switched to this method. Your brain needs to WORK with the info, not just stare at it!

Google Calendar Blocking 📆

Color coding saved my life! Blue = classes, yellow = study blocks, pink = self-care. I schedule EVERYTHING, even "do nothing" time. This visual reminder of where my time goes helps me avoid that "where did my day go??" panic. Plus I can see exactly how much study time I've actually planned for each class.

Weekly Brain Dump 📝

Every Sunday night, I grab my journal and write down EVERYTHING swirling in my head—assignments, worries, random thoughts, whatever. Getting it all onto paper stops the midnight anxiety spirals. This ritual clears my mental space for the week ahead and shows me what I actually need to prioritize vs. what my anxiety is magnifying.

What tools save YOUR sanity during exam season? Drop them below! And remember, we're all just trying to survive this chaos together. You've got this! 💪
