... Read moreIn today's world of studying, many students believe that taking pretty notes is essential for academic success. However, my experience has shown that aesthetics do not determine the effectiveness of learning. After noticing that my grades were not reflecting the effort I put into creating colorful and visually appealing notes, I decided to make a change. Instead of spending hours perfecting the look of my notes, I shifted my focus to the content and understanding behind the material. I began utilizing tools like Youtube videos to create instant notes, which allowed me to convert essential concepts into flashcards, mind maps, and quizzes. This approach not only saved time but also increased my retention of the information. One of the key insights I've gained is that explaining concepts in simple terms, as if teaching a five-year-old, significantly aids in comprehension. This method shifts the focus from how notes look to how much knowledge I can actually retain. Making study resources functional was a game-changer for my academic performance. Ultimately, I've learned that while pretty notes can be visually appealing, the priority is on effective learning techniques that promote deeper understanding. The transition from aesthetic to practical has yielded remarkable improvements in my grades and study confidence.
